Keynotes & Speeches
With more than thirty years experience as a public speaker, and a rich and varied career as a British academic historian turned novelist and schools presenter, in the Deep South and now also in the Midwest, I have a fascinating store of entertaining and thought-provoking stories to tell! My career highlights range from speaking at Cambridge University to entertaining fourth graders at a school in a particularly remote area of Georgia. I regularly travel to museums, archives, and historic sites in the UK and USA, and bring what I learn --entertainingly-- to underserved audiences in America, through my novels and programs. Whether you need an inspiring keynote at a teachers’ conference, or an entertaining lunch/dinner speaker for your meeting, or simply want your group to learn about my work, I promise to be inspiring, funny… and very British.

Dr. Laing has a uniquely interesting way of connecting children to history, and her stories about her work are uplifting. Her dry wit coupled with her lilting accent kept us all hanging on every word!

Annette put together an amazing presentation for our group. She was a great hit. Several people noted her speaking as being one of the best aspects of our conference this year. Working with her was a delight, and we’d definitely invite her back again.
